Punkaharjun Valtionhotelli Punkaharjun Valtionhotelli will be opened from the 25th of May until the 1st of September 2012. Early Bird Discount - book by the end of the year 2011 and get 20 % off the prices! With the help of Tsar Nikolai I Punkaharjun Valtionhotelli (Punkaharju State Hotel) was built in the year 1845. It is Finland´s first travellers´ hotel which also consists of the romantic Villa Keisarinna (Empress´ Villa, built in the year 1898). Punkaharju is a famous ridge area surrounded by Saimaa-lake, which is part of the Finnish "Lake District". Punkaharju Ridge Area is said to be one of the most beautiful places in Finland. Punkaharjun Valtionhotelli is located right on top of the ridge, about 200 m from the lake. The hotel has 24 rooms in two different buildings. The Main Building has 9 Standard Twin rooms, 3 Single rooms and the Marital Suite Frederika. The reception is in the Main Building. Villa Keisarinna has 3 Superior Double rooms, 1 Standard Double room and 7 Classic Twin rooms (3 of them without toilet and shower which are in the corridor). All the rooms have a tv. Villa Keisarinna is located near the lake, about 150 meters by foot or 400 meters by car from the Main Building. Both buildings have a free parking place. The breakfast is served in the restaurant in the Main Building (MON-SAT 7.30-10.30, SUN 8-10.30). The hotel also has 15 small summer cottages about 300 meters from the Main Building, in beautiful natural lake surroundings. ROOMS/THE MAIN BUILDING: Marital Suite Frederika - double bed, extra bed for 1-2 persons, a small fridge, shower, toilet and tv. View to the Lake Saimaa. Standard Twin -separate beds for 2, extra bed for 1-2 persons, shower, toilet and tv. View to the Punkaharju Ridge. Single Room - also possible for two persons (bed 120 cm), shower, toilet, tv. View to the Ridge. ROOMS/VILLA KEISARINNA: Superior Double - double bed,  extra bed for 1-2 person, two separate rooms, own balcony, fridge, shower, toilet, tv. View to the lake/ridge. Standard Double - double bed, no extra bed, shower, toilet, tv. View to the ridge. Classic Twin - small and atmospheric room with shower, toilet, tv. Separate  beds for 2, no extra beds, view to the lake/ridge. Classic Twin, shower and toilet in the corridor - separate beds for 2, no extra beds. Washbasin, tv. View to the lake. COTTAGES: Small summer cottages for 2-3 persons. Two beds (120 cm and 80 cm), one small extra bed for a child. Fridge, small stove, coffee machine, some table ware, radio. Shower and toilet in a separate building. Breakfast and bed linen from the hotel for additional charge. SAUNA: The Hotel Sauna is about 200 meters from the Main Building and 20 meters from the lake. The sauna can be rented for 25 €/hour and towels for 4 €/person. The Beach area close to the sauna is open to all the hotel- and cottage guests so take into consideration that if you rent the sauna there may be other guests at the beach as well. Near the sauna there is also an open fire place for grilling, Beach Volley place, Tennis Court and rowing boats for the guests. RESTAURANT: The restaurant is open every day 25.5.-1.9.2012. The buffet breakfast is served MON-SAT 7.30-10.30, SUN 8-10.30. The Lunch Buffet will be available 15.6.-19.8. every day from noon until 6 p.m. excluding Midsummer and private funtions. We also serve a la carte-menu every day starting 5 p.m. The kitchen is closed at 10.30 p.m. in July and 9.30 p.m. otherwise. If previous bookings are made the kitchen can be open until later.
